I lived for my career and became a total workaholic. Very quickly it became clear that this wasn’t making me happy anymore and I didn’t want to look back years down the line and say ‘I wish I had done that’. I took a good long hard look at ‘Di’s life’ and decided to go traveling, see the world and when I came home I would set up my own business because I had always promised my dad that I would.

Nothing ever goes according to plan. Fate intervened and although I didn’t get to travel the world, I did visit Kenya and I had no idea what lay ahead of me over there but came back after 6 days a very changed person. My trip to Kenya didn’t turn out the way I had expected but I was moved by what I saw.  During my visit I met many Kenyan people who made such an impact on me that I decided to come back to the UK and form Afrika Gifts…the rest is history.

I hope we meet one day so that you can see that I am a passionate, fun loving individual who is now doing something that not only makes me smile but also helps others.
